College roommate Mary and I went to a bridal shower/dinner tonight for a friend who we were close to in college but not as close to recently. The other roommate from our junior year was also there (and things did not end very well when the three of us left that apartment). But dinner and cheesecake was good–it was actually really nice to catch up with these ladies and realize that after two years of virtually having no contact, many of the hurts and issues are now gone. So that was nice.

ok so I wrote a post last night and now it is nowhere to be found! I don’t exactly remember what it said so maybe it’s not a big loss. Update time: Colorado was great. I gave cgc my list of externship sites to contact and two of them are in the beautiful mountains (it’s exciting but also makes my heart race a little). I got to go home for almost a week when you put all the days together. I got to hang out with my parents, go to a ‘Stros game, and see a couple of movies. In between the being at home days I went to Chicago for another hearing aid conference. It was fun too. I saw Nickel Creek on their Farewell (for now) Tour and saw some Gotham City SWAT guys rehearsing what I assume will be a scene in the new Batman movie. Five of us skipped the conference on Saturday–which was my birthday–to play in the city and that was a blast. I love visiting Chicago. School started last Thursday and it’s gonna be a doozie. I have (not in this particular order) two full days of clinic, a day and a half of classes, and a day and a half of work. That equals 5 full working days but I have to be doing my research project on top of all that and study for formative assessments and apply/interview for externships. eek! Guess I should be working on my CV and cover letter right now instead of blogging  In other news, Jamie’s birthday party was fun (I woke up Sunday morning still full from Kobe Steaks the night before) and her going away party is Friday. I think it’ll be bitter-sweet. I saw Amy perform in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat" and she was great–even with the twisted ankle, I might add. I’ve only been in school for three days and I already feel behind so I’m going to go be productive now. I wonder if that missing post will ever reappear?

Saw Travis play at HOB with Amy and Jillian (awesome concert). Finished summer semester. Went to Keystone, CO for a conference (I heart Colorado and want to live there). Home for a few days to visit the ‘rents (I heart them too). Off to Chicago for another conference (will get to see Nickel Creek–way excited). Home for a couple of days. Start fall semester.
