Summer School

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

I have a midterm on Monday–that’s right, I said midterm. It’s summer time; I don’t want to study. Well, I don’t ever really want to study but it being summer just makes it that much harder. The bright side: a midterm indicates that this class is halfway done.

Summer INTENSIVE Auditory Rehabilitation Conference. The word "intensive" in the title should have tipped me off that it would be a crazy week. I survived that intensive conference and my first week of summer classes/clinic. I think the summer’s gonna be a whole lot better than the previous semester. :) I’m a fan of that. Now I just have to finish writing case reports on my SIARC patients, turn in my notebook, and I will officially be done with SIARC! woohoo! The only way that they’ll get me to do it again next year is if I can be a "mentor" instead of a "student clinician" because mentors get paid and they don’t have to do all the hard work! That is of course if Dad and I haven’t jetted off to be in The Amazing Race! We’ll be making our audition video soon :)

Now you see it, now you don’t

That sums up my summer vacation. It was a week long. It was a great week off but not long enough. I know I know–for those of you in the real world, you probably think I’m way lucky to still be in school and get summer vacation. I think you are lucky that you get to choose when you take your vacation. The grass is always greener on the other side.

I survived my finals (even though I was sicky-poo for most of them) then went home to hang out with the ‘rents for my week off. We went to a movie and to an Astros game–they won, woohoo–and had a fun night of watching Survivor with Kit. Hurray for summer vacation; it was a good one.
