Vacation is officially over

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

School started back up on the 17th and so summer break is officially over. Even though it was a short break, it’s been hard to get "back into the swing of things." Two of my three rotations this semester are off site (which means at places other than Callier) and that’s kinda exciting. I think despite having Thibodeau for three classes and a lab (that’s a lot of Thib!), this is going to be a good semester. It’ll be as busy or busier than previous ones but that’s just the nature of the beast.

In other news, the ‘Stros are winning (woohoo!). Football is starting up; TCU is playing Baylor over Labor Day Weekend. That’ll be interesting. It rained today for about 15 minutes and that was very exciting. I’m in the middle of season three of 24–not a very good season but I’ve heard season four is good so (fine!) I’ll just have to suffer through it. That’s about it. Does anyone even read this still? Just wondering. :)

Chicago was great! Img_0448

Greg, Sara, Reagan, Susan, and I went up a day early and had a blast! We went to Navy Pier, the Magnificent Mile, the Art Institute, Tavern on the Rush, the bean, and ate Chicago style pizza.

LB joined us for the conference at Phonak. Friday was my birthday so LB and I skipped the conference and headed back to the city. We took a boat tour!Dscn0685

I love the Windy City :)

I leave today for Chicago and get back Sunday. Yippee!!

I love this city and I really want to live there one day. It didn’t work out that I go to grad school up there, so I’m hoping my 4th year externship might be there….or Colorado. :)

but I’m going to Chicago today!!!

It feels like summer

Erin is here! Hurray!!!
I picked her up from the airport after getting my TB test and tetanus shot (which kinda hurt and my arm is sore from it) so that I can do my rotation in the children’s hospital and we went to lunch at Great Outdoors. Mmm, my favorite! Then we went to the lake with LB and her family. Lots of fun in the sun and water. I got a little better on the wakeboard and even attempted to jump over the wake. :) I got enough air that they could see under my board…and then I fell over. We’ll see what tomorrow brings!
